Walk - a - Vanilla Extract Workshop: 10:30 pm
We begin with an enrichment walking workshop at theVisitRico Farm located in Arecibo. Guided tour of the planting of vanilla agroforestry and in shadehouse. You will be able to observe the first vanilla planifolia and pompona pods from the farm under development. You will know the aspects of sowing and cultivating vanilla in Puerto Rico.

Bird Watching observe exotic wood trees during the tour and hear a variety of birds, including the woodpecker, as well as beautiful butterflies.

Resources: Héctor M. Collazo, President of Vainilla Castañer, LLC and Millyvette García Santos, authors of the Book Sowing the Earth Tilling the Law. Dr. Paul Bayman Gupta, Botanist Professor at the University of Puerto Rico and Director of the Technical Committee of Vainilla Castañer, LLC.

We will prepare vanilla extract together from the pod grown in Lares, Puerto Rico. You can take home the vanilla extract prepared by you. In addition, you will be given recipes for different dishes using vanilla from Puerto Rico.

Have you ever tasted the freshness? We will be gathering the freshest ingredients from our local farmers and the surrounding community of farmers to the improvised kitchen in the field. Nivia Villanueva will share a recipe prepared with our local vainilla.

Cook and Agronomist, Hugo Varona will be using vanilla grown in Puerto Rico to prepare our feast. Aside from vanilla being our main ingredient, we have an honored guest... The local fish. If you are vegan, when making the reservation please indicate it for the Chef's attention.
